Five Reasons to Come to AROTR

Fans from around the U.S. will come together to kick off summer and celebrate the music of The Beatles and classic rock at Abbey Road on the River. The annual event, now in its 22nd year, will be held Memorial Day weekend, May 23-27, 2024, at the Big Four Station Park in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Here’s what keeps thousands of fans taking the long and winding road across the universe to twist and shout together year after year...

 

THE MUSIC

The 5-day music festival celebrates the best era of classic rock and features 50 bands performing 200 concerts on 6 stages throughout the weekend. Abbey Road on the River pays homage to The Beatles, one of the most influential bands in music history, and showcases a diverse lineup of artists covering legendary bands from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. This year’s highlights will feature tribute shows honoring Elvis Presley, The Eagles, Joe Cocker, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Chicago and many more.  

 

THE ART

Attendees can enjoy interacting and taking photos with several large public art installations including the iconic Abbey Road crosswalk replica, the “Peace Tree” where fans write messages on ribbons and add them to the tree, Strawberry Fields where guests lay among Beatles painted strawberries, and the full-size Sgt Pepper boards with cutout faces.

 

THE EXPERIENCES

The festival presents several extra experiences for ticket holders, such as sing-alongs, trivia contests, free guitar lessons, Beatles yoga, and live podcast recordings. Attendees can browse a vendor market featuring art inspired by classic rock, memorabilia, and vintage records and goods related to The Beatles and music culture.

 

THE FOOD AND DRINKS

The festival offers a wide selection of food options like BBQ, Smash Burgers, Fish Fry, tacos and burritos, pizza by the slice, Jake’s famous hot dogs, hand-shaken lemonade, homemade ice cream, Asian and vegan options. Attendees can also enjoy Beatle-themed drink options, including a “Lovely Rita” Margarita and the Strawberry Fields Spiked Lemonade.  

 

THE VIBE

Ultimately, Abbey Road on the River offers an unparalleled live music experience, with talented musicians paying tribute to some of the greatest songs ever written, ensuring a memorable time for all who attend. It’s a nostalgic trip down memory lane for older fans who experienced the heyday of The Beatles, while also introducing younger generations to the timeless music of the 60s and 70’s.

 

The 2024 Abbey Road on the River festival will feature performances by the best Beatles tribute band in the world The Fab Four, the legendary Jan & Dean’s Beach Party Starring Dean Torrence, and Tony Kishman’s Live and Let Die: the music of Paul McCartney, and many others, as well as local acts such as renowned harpist Erin Hill, Louisville School Of Rock, The Rigbys, CMN Trio, Louisville Brass and Electric, The Get Down, Doorway, Nick Peay, The Kukes, Paulie Felice, Laren Rapp, and many more.

 

Tickets are available online and at the new SoIN Tourism Visitor Center, 228 Spring Street in Jeffersonville. Anyone who purchases tickets at the SoIN Visitors Center by May 26 at 12:00pm will be entered to win a Gretsch Guitar. One entry per person. The winner will be announced May 26th at 6:00pm live on stage at the festival.
